Second Asian to non-stop solo circumnavigate the world

(April 6, 2013) – Lt Cdr Abhilash Tomy (34 years) became the second person from Asia to sail non-stop solo circumnavigate the world. Lt Cdr Tomy of the Indian Navy returned to Mumbai on March 31 having left on Nov 1, 2012, with his route passing south of the Cape of Good Hope, Leeuwin and Cape Horn. Sailing the 56 ft boat Mhadei, which was first sailed around the world by Commander Dilip Donde in 2009/10, who stopped three times during the course of the first Indian solo circumnavigation.
