MULTI-TASK: Something else to do this week

Published on April 17th, 2013

Nine teams will be on the Bay of Naples in Italy for the first day of championship racing Thursday in the America’s Cup World Series.

This is the final event of the 2012-13 America’s Cup World Series, currently led by Oracle Team USA. While team skipper Jimmy Spithill remains in San Francisco to focus on the AC72, rookie helm Tom Slingsby has been tasked by Spithill to not ‘stuff it up’.

A boat full of rookies are on HS Racing, led by double Olympic gold medalist Roman Hagara, who says he’s hoping to challenge some of the more experienced AC45 teams over the course of the week.

Racing from Thursday to Sunday (Apr 18-21) will be streamed live on the Scuttlebutt website (subject to territorial rights agreements) beginning at 4:45am PDT / 7:45am EDT on Thursday.
