Bermuda One-Two Yacht Race

Published on June 9th, 2013

(June 9, 2013) – The remnants of tropical storm Andrea have left a large and messy sea state for the solo leg of the Bermuda 1-2 race. The fleet of 23 starts on June 8 has lost Murray Danforth on Flying Turtle (Beneteau Figaro II) due to electrical failure and Don Gray on Warriors Wish (Mt. Gay 30 mod) with rigging and autopilot problems. The boats are generally to the west of the rhumb line with southerly winds are predicted as the fleet nears Bermuda. Scott Miller on Resolute (J/122) leads Class 1 and is the elapsed leader with 430nm to the finish. – http://www.bermuda1-2.org/
