The Extreme Sailing Series has postponed their fourth event on the 2013 circuit, which was to be held in Istanbul, Turkey on June 20-23. Event organizers state the reasons are connected to Istanbul’s Olympic bid, but the region is also currently strife with violent political demonstrations. Now in its seventh season, the ESS is held in the Extreme 40 catamarans sailed by five crew in inshore locations. The next ESS event will be in Porto, Portugal on July 25-28.
