Etchells World Championship – Day 4

Published on June 13th, 2013

Rosignano, Italy (June 13, 2013) – The fourth day of the Etchells World Champonship was best for George Andreadis, ISAF vice president, posting a 1-2 to be in third overall.

“A very well organized event,” Andreadis said at the end of the day. “It is important for sailing in Italy to have races in different venues from the usual ones. It is a very tough championship with so many good sailors, world and Olympic champions.”

In a warm summer day, a westerly wind blew over the race area, allowing to complete two races, with about 8 knots for the first race, and the second race saw 12 knots dropping to 6 knots on the last leg of the course.

American Marvin Beckmann is still the leader of the overall results, with a 16-point edge over European Champion Ante Razmilovich (HKG) in second place.

Racing continues Friday and concludes on Saturday.
