45th International Knarr Championship

San Francisco, CA (September 7, 2013) – On the sixth and final day of the 45th International Knarr Championship (IKC), Soren Pehrsson from Denmark, won with 18 points. Following close behind is Jon Perkins, from San Francisco, with 31 points, and in third is Lars Gottfredsen, IKC defending champion and from Denmark, with 34 points. Knud Wibroe from Sausalito who is the founder of the fleet in San Francisco, came in 6th place with 50 points. Conditions were windy throughout the week, which made for tight racing on the Olympic Circle in Berkeley and on the City front. The regatta was hosted by the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere. The next IKC will be in Bergen, Norway. It will return to the Bay Area in three years.
