St. Thomas International Regatta – New Name, Same Great Racing

Published on September 12th, 2013

The St. Thomas International Regatta, formerly the International Rolex Regatta, will take place March 28-30, 2014. Continually hosted by St. Thomas Yacht Club in the U.S. Virgin Islands, no other regatta in the Caribbean offers so many classes and rating rules under which to compete.

Teams are invited to enter in Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA); IRC; High Performance Rule (HPR); Multihull; CSA Bareboat; CSA (unmeasured) for boats from the U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico; Beach Cats; and One-Design classes with a minimum length of 20 feet.

“Those of us running Caribbean events believe this will be a banner year for us,” says Bill Canfield, director of the St. Thomas Yacht Club-hosted regatta. “As more captains and owners evaluate the costs, quality of racing and weather conditions found in our area compared to Europe they are beginning to realize the value of bringing their racing programs to the islands. The St. Thomas International Regatta stands alone as the friendliest and easiest event to attend and is a must stop on your Caribbean tour in 2014.”

Take advantage now of a big discount on early registration. Entries received and paid for in full by 5 p.m. AST January 31, 2014 pay only US $250. The registration fee between February 1 and March 25, 2014 increases to US $400 for all boats, except US $250 for beach cats and US $300 for IC24s and CSA (unmeasured) boats.

The St. Thomas International Regatta promises challenging courses, professional race management and island-style hospitality.
