Kite Foilboarding: How it began, where it is going

Just when we were getting our head around the idea of racing boards with kites around marks, the leaders of the kiteboard course racing movement have now elevated the game… literally.

As organized kiteboard racing goes down one path, developing gear and racing rules for their regattas, the evolution of equipment has now taken the kiters down the path of foiling.

Just as they were at the forefront of course racing, three sailors on San Francisco are now pushing the limits on the kite foilboard. Here they share some comments during the Kite Foilboard California State Championship, hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club on October 11-13.
