Sail magazine names top boats for 2014

The magazine announced its favorite 15 picks for the new model year, saying “the boatbuilding industry has pulled out all the stops to create a fleet of new designs that is more diverse and creative than ever.”

• Perform monohull under 30 feet — Xp 44

• Trailer sailer — Far East 18/18R
• Multihull under 30 feet — RS Cat 16
• Multihull 31 to 40 feet — Lagoon 39
• Multihull 41 to 50 feet — Atlantic 47
• Flagship multihull — Fountaine Pajot 67
• Systems — Gunboat 60 (winner in three systems categories)
