Breaking the speed sailing world record by standing inside a sail

The current overall speed sailing record is held by Richard Jenkins and his formidable land yacht Greenbird, which set the new record of 126.2 mph on Ivanpah Dry Lake near Prim, Nevada, USA on March 26 2009.

Greenbird was a highly engineered, highly funded project.

Anders is a skate sailor who stands inside a wing sail. Top measured speed of 59 mph in 13 knots of wind (left). Top estimated speed of 100 mph (right). He also has envisioned new sail designs that can reach much higher speeds.
