National Sailing Hall of Fame Nominations Due Now

If you have a candidate you would like to nominate to the U.S. National Sailing Hall of Fame, the nomination period ends on April 1, 2014. To learn more and to complete the nomination form for your candidate online visit http://nominate.nshof.org. Here you will also find names of past Inductees so take a look to see who has not been inducted and deserves to be. To make it simple NSOF has prepared two videos to assist you nominate someone quickly and easily using its online nomination form.

This year, up to six people will be chosen from a combination of publicly-submitted nominations and “carry-over” nominations from last year. Carry-over nominations are those people who were nominated in past years that received a high enough score to be inducted, but were out-scored by other candidates. Scoring is done by a selection committee appointed by the NSHOF, comprised of representatives from the NSHOF, U.S. Sailing, the sailing media, the sailing industry, community sailing, a maritime museum and NSHOF founding member clubs.

This year’s Induction Ceremony will be held on September 28 at the Bayview and Detroit Yacht Clubs in Detroit, Michigan.
