Qualifying complete at c420 North American

Long Beach Island, NJ (July 22, 2014) – The second day of the 2014 c420 North American Championship completed the qualifying round, with eight races now to split the 115 boats into the gold and silver divisions.

A building sea breeze today of 5-10kts combined with a strong ebb tide for the first two races, with the sea breeze built to 12-15kts and a flood tide for the last two races. The conditions were epic for the c420 with full trapeze conditions.

The team of Martina Sly and Ian Morgan were dominant again today posting scores of 4,2,1,1. Martina and Ian have been comfortable in all conditions only dropping a 4th as their worst race. The pair has a 19 point lead over second place Augie Dale and Kennedy Placek from LISOT and Pewaukee YC in 2nd with Thomas Walden and William Hundahl from St. Thomas and Pleon YC’s in third.
