New Around Britain and Ireland Monohull 60ft and Less Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified of a new Around Britain and Ireland Monohull 60ft and Less world record. Set by Brian Thompson (GBR) and crew on the IMOCA 60 Artemis-Team Endeavour on August 11 – 16, the new 1733nm record is 5 days 14 hours and 54 seconds (average speed 13.23 knots). The previous record of 6d 9h 49m 10s was set by Marc Guillemot (FRA) and crew on the IMOCA 60 Safran in June 2011. Source
