New speed records set at Luderitz Speed Challenge

The Lüderitz Speed Challenge, an annual speed sailing event which began 2007, held its 2014 edition on October 6 – November 2 in Lüderitz, Namibia. Thirty-four riders (windsurfers and kiters) representing 17 different nationalities were invited to utilize the man-made trench which produces a flat water surface for maximum speed. By close of the event, 34 new records were set and then re-broken, ending the event with eleven new national records and one world record. Details.
