Details revealed for US Open and Women’s Match Racing Championships

US Sailing is accepting applications to enter the Qualifying Series for the U.S. Match Racing Championship (USMRC) and U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship (USWMRC). All qualifiers are now open to competitors from around the country regardless of their home area, and skippers can race in more than one qualifier if space is available.

The U.S. Match Racing Championships Committee (USMRCC) will issue invitations to the qualifiers and finals. The highest placing eligible skipper, not already qualified, at each qualifier will receive an automatic invitation to the championship. The committee will also extend at least one invitation to each championship in addition to the qualifier spots, and potentially more if any spots remain vacant after the qualifiers. The U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship will be sailed August 14-16, 2015, at Newport Harbor Yacht Club in Newport Beach, Calif. The U.S. Match Racing Championship will be sailed October 10-12, 2015, at Oakcliff Sailing in Oyster Bay, N.Y.
