VIDEO: No Ordinary Women, Episode 1

NO ORDINARY WOMEN is the high-energy and inspirational reality documentary series following Team SCA and the lives of a group of determined women in the build up to sailing’s toughest event, the Volvo Ocean Race, beginning in September 2014.

In 8 gripping episodes we witness the dawn of incredible friendships, extraordinary feats of physical fitness, emotions tested to their limits, and a large helping of girl power. We will see the team selected and life-long dreams fulfilled as they become a force to be reckoned with within a male-dominated competition.

In this episode we are introduced to Sophie, Annie, Liz, Sam and Carolijn – the first five women to get a contract with Team SCA. These amazing women are about to realize their dreams, they will race in the next Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15. They will do this with an unprecedented level of backing, for the first time in the race´s history, an all-female team will be able to race on the same terms as their male counterparts.
