Published on June 28th, 2015

Pewaukee, WI (June 28, 2015) – Despite light winds for the final day of the MC Scow National Championship, the fleet of 93 boats finished the final two races of their 7-race schedule. Local Andy Burdick, who entered the day with a 16 point lead, posted a pair of 13s to extend his final winning margin by 21 points. Bill Draheim from Rush Creek YC (TX) finished second with Frank Reeg (top youth) from Spring Lake YC (MI) in third.

Report by Bob Wynkoop:
The kid who learned how to sail on Pewaukee Lake, Andy Burdick, stepped to the front of the room with his son Finn Burdick who crewed for him to claim the 2015 MCSA Championship trophy. The breeze was light from the southwest and gave everyone fits. There was a notable final finish by Dan Fink who jetted off the line in race 7 catching the big right pressure for the ragatta bracketing win (he also won race 1). Spring Lake (MI) had a good day as Youth sailor Frank Reeg went 7th and 3rd while his mentor Brett Hatton finally found his groove with two top ten finishes of his own on the final day. Michele Heinze of Nagawicka lake, WI was the top woman finisher.
