Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race fleet to begin finishing tonight

Published on July 7th, 2015

(July 7, 2015; Day 3) – The wind is starting to build on the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race course again as expected. “Spookie”, the Carkeek HP 40 owned by Steve and Heidi Benjamin of Norwalk, Conn. continues to lead the fleet on its way to the finish line in Halifax Harbour.

Currently, the estimate is that the first boat across the finish line will arrive in Halifax in the evening, approximately 8 pm ADT. That could change earlier or later, depending on wind and wave conditions this afternoon. The larger fleet will be arriving through the evening and overnight. Many boats won’t cross the line until later on Wednesday.
