Telling the Story of the Volvo Ocean Race

The 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race began in Alicante, Spain on October 11, covering 38,739 nm on the way to the final In-Port Race on June 27 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

This was the third edition of the race with onboard reporters, with their contributions increasing with each edition. Also increased in this edition was the broadcast content, which resulted in three documentary programs to follow.

Life at the Extreme
The 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race’s flagship half-hour weekly show, Life at the Extreme, would round up all the action for 39 weekly episodes from start to finish. Watch here.

All Hands on Deck
As Team Vestas Wind seeks to re-join the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race following the grounding of their VO 65 on November 29, the team launched a 10-episode web series, All Hands on Deck, to provide updates on their progress. Watch here.

No Ordinary Women
This 8-episode high-energy and inspirational reality documentary series followed Team SCA and the lives of a group of determined women in the buildup to competing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15. Watch here.

Background: Racing the new one design Volvo Ocean 65, seven teams scored points in 9 offshore legs to determine the overall Volvo Ocean Race winner.
