Tough Sledding at Hobie 16 North Americans

Published on September 22nd, 2015

Pensacola, FL (September 22, 2015) – The second day of the Hobie 16 North American Championships faced light winds with a strong current.

The 73-boat fleet was able to complete the first race but the second race ran into trouble when the strong current prevented the fleet from being able to round the windward mark. The Race Committee abandoned the race and cancelled additional racing for the day, with better conditions predicted for tomorrow.

After five races, Jason Hess/Irene Abascal (GUA), lead followed by Mark Modderman/Grace Modderman (USA) and Rich Mcveigh/Carol Mcveigh (USA). Racing continues through Friday.
