$100M lawsuit filed in El Faro tragedy

A $100 million lawsuit has been filed against the owner and captain of the 790-foot cargo ship that sunk during the Category 4 Hurricane Joaquin, taking the lives of 33 crew. The El Faro, which sunk Oct. 1 east of the Bahamas, was carrying cars and other cargo en route to Puerto Rico. The lawsuit claims the decades-old ship was not fit to sail into rough seas. The National Transportation Safety Board has launched its investigation into the sinking. Full report.
