11th Hour Racing Seeks Funding Proposals

Published on April 4th, 2016

Newport, RI (April 4, 2016) – 11th Hour Racing, a program of the Schmidt Family Foundation, is seeking proposals for projects to improve the health of our oceans and waterways. Through the platform of sailing, 11th Hour Racing aims to increase an understanding of current threats to the oceans, find solutions to the challenges that impact marine resources, and promote stewardship of the seas.

11th Hour Racing is requesting proposals that advance one or more of their program’s focus areas:

• Support and promote solutions that reduce ocean pollution;
• Advance clean technologies and best practices that reduce the environmental impact of the sailing industry and maritime communities; and
• Educate and foster ocean stewardship amongst sailing and coastal communities.

Strong consideration will be given to organizations or individuals that leverage collaborations, can demonstrate outcomes in a one-year timeframe, and share success broadly.

Responses must be submitted by May 2nd, 2016 through 11th Hour Racing’s online form. Grant award is expected in early fall. For detailed information about eligibility, timeline, and the application, visit www.11thhourracing.org/grant-opportunities.
