New Leader at Club 420 Canadians

French Village, NS (July 16, 2016) – The Club 420 Canadian National Championships continued today on St. Margaret’s Bay in Nova Scotia. Thirty-four 420s are competing in the event, the second of the Triple Crown 420 events this summer. The regatta will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, July 17.

Racing got underway this morning after the fog lifted and the sun came out. The temperatures were warmer today in the high 70s and the winds were steady from the South Southwest up to around 8-12 knots. The competitors completed two races for a total of five races in the regatta so far.

Georgia Lewin-LaFrance and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance won both races to take over the lead and extend on previous leader Pat Wilson and Arie Moffat.

The racing is set to being at 11 a.m. tomorrow and no race may start after 2:30 p.m. The awards will be held around 4:30 p.m.
