Light Air Utopia at I-420 Worlds

Published on July 21st, 2016

San Remo, Italy (July 21, 2016) – Not everyone loves light air racing, but for those that do the race track conditions at the I-420 World Championships are Utopia.

Day four opened with a postponement ashore, and after a wait for the breeze, racing kicked off in around 10-11 knots, before dropping off.

Two races wrapped up for the 420 Open, and it was a day of contrasts for series leaders Jim Vincent/Victor Mas (FRA) scoring a 32-2. The top North American team, Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin (USA), dropped down to 11th overall after posting a 20-22.

Only one race was completed for each of the 420 Ladies and U17, with Maria Caba/Pilar Caba (ESP) and Violette Dorange/Camille Orion (FRA) holding the respective leads.

Racing concludes on July 23.
