Published on August 24th, 2016

The America’s Cup Event Authority, in association with BIC Sport North America, Inc., Hobie Cat Company and RS Sailing, are staging the America’s Cup Endeavour Junior Regattas in Bermuda in connection with the 35th America’s Cup in 2017.

One junior regatta will be contested with O’pen BICs, one junior regatta will be contested with RS Fevas and one junior regatta will be contested with Hobie Waves. Each junior regatta will consist of qualification rounds and a final. Each junior regatta final will be staged during, and included in the live television broadcast of, the halftime show during an official race day of the 35th America’s Cup Match in June 2017.

The International Hobie Class Association is recruiting to have a maximum of sixteen teams competing in the Hobie Wave event. The two-person teams can be of any gender combination, but with the goal being to have a 50/50 equal mix of males and females at the event. All sailors need to be 15 years old or younger in 2017 and members of the Hobie Class Association.

The goal is to select Hobie Wave teams from each of the six America’s Cup participating countries: France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and the United States, plus teams from Bermuda and as many other countries as possible.
