Canada takes early lead at Canada’s Cup

Toronto Ontario (September 10, 2016) – Hollandia takes the lead on day one of the 24th Canada’s Cup match-race regatta at Royal Canadian Yacht Club. The two races were completed in medium wind conditions. Hollandia won both races but not without taking duels and penalty turns.

The 24th edition of the Canada’s Cup, first competed for in 1896, will have a best of seven series on September 10-14 between defender Royal Canadian Yacht Club (Toronto, ONT) and challenger of record Sodus Bay Yacht Club (Sodus Point, NY).

Racing in 8 Meters, Bryan Gooderham will skipper Defender Hollandia against Adam Burns and Challenger Team Yquem (Youngstown Yacht Club) in the waters off Toronto, ONT. Event details.
