Bora Gulari Leads Melges 24 U.S. Nationals

Lake Geneva, WI (October 8, 2016) – The Line Honors 2016 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship continued today, hosted by the Lake Geneva Yacht Club (LGYC) Forty seven teams have traveled to participate from all across North America and around the world to race the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association’s (USMCA) biggest event.

Four races were run today.

Dropping into second after the day’s racing is team Monsoon, skippered by Bruce Ayres, with crew Mike Buckley, Jessica Koenig, George Peet, and Jeff Reynolds. They won the first race of the day, but the day didn’t go as planned. The remaining finishes were 12, 5, 26, leaving them with 26 points, one point ahead of the third place team, Team Embarr, skippered by Conor Clarke, from Dublin, Ireland.

In first overall, with 21 points, is team West Marine Rigging, skippered by Bora Gulari.

Racing is scheduled to continue Sunday.
