Positions Shuffle at Star Midwinters

Miami, FL (January 7, 2017) – The third day of the Star Midwinters had three races scheduled but only two races were held today on Biscayne Bay before the wind pipped up ahead of a front that was to hit Miami tonight.

Augie Diaz and Arnis Baltins posted a 6-3 to remain in the lead though positions behind have shuffled. Tomorrow, two or three races could be sailed on the final day but the forecast is for very strong wind.

Dec 3-4, 2016 – Commodores Cup/District 20 Championship (up to 5 races)
Jan 5-6, 2017 – Walker Cup (up to 5 races)
Jan 5-8, 2017 – Star Midwinters (up to 8 races)
Feb 11-12, 2017 – Levin Cup (up to 5 races)

Scoring for the Star Winter Series: Points shall be determined from the finishing place at each regatta. The sum of the best three of the four weekend regattas plus the Midwinter regatta place multiplied times two will determine the winner of the Winter Series. Ties will be broken in favor of the best finish at the Midwinters.
