The third and final event of the 2016-2017 Quantum J/70 Winter Series attracted 53 teams, with racing held February 4-5 at Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa, FL. Mark Allen’s Macro Connect won the 21-boat Corinthian Division with Doug Strebel and Jay Lutz’s Black River Racing taking the overall title.

Fifty-five teams fulfilled the 2016-2017 Quantum J/70 Winter Series requirements by competing in at least two of the three weekends with the same boat and skipper.

Bruno Pasquinelli’s Stampede, with finishes of 2-1-3, took the series title with Darby Smith’s Africa in second and Black River Racing in third. The Corinthian Division was won by Andrew Loe’s Dime Piece followed by Andrew Fisher’s Button Fly in second and Macro Connect in third.

The final event completed three races on Saturday before the wind died with no races on Sunday due to the lack of breeze.
