Newport Beach, CA (April 6, 2016) – The tenth Baldwin Cup Team Race got underway for 12 yacht club teams from the U.S. and the U.K. With racing off of Newport Harbor Club in Harbor 20s, St. Francis YC has the early lead with San Diego YC tied for second with NHYC Lightning.

The three-day regatta showcases the talent of international and national champions, America’s Cup crew members, and collegiate All-Americans. Sailors compete in team format with four vs. four boats.

Consecutive three-time champion Team Thunder from Newport Harbor Yacht Club will be defending their title without star sailor Mike Menninger, who’s defected to the St. Francis Yacht Club team.
