On this week’s “World on Water” global sailing news show:
In this episode, WoW introduces their first dedicated 35th America’s Cup report. The defender struggles with first a near capsize and then the actual thing, the French loses a crew member and then the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup. MAPFRE loses a mast training for the Volvo Ocean Race, GC32 foiling, 10th Sail Port Stephens Days 2 and 3, Emirates Team New Zealand finally goes to Bermuda but a thought, “All the boats trialing in Bermuda look “bow-down” and the Kiwis look “bow-up” – can this be a difference? The Safran team describe foiling, it’s Easter so the sports’ largest regatta – the Fraglia Della Riva Optimist – is on with over 1,000 young sailors and their families. We show last years and likewise sail St Barts and the big boys bring out their beautiful toys. Only the sport of sailing can show its extremes this way by going from start-up Optis to Super Maxi Yachts. Get a load of this boat “eye-candy”.
