Horangic sisters honored at BEG Advanced Clinic

Theodora “Teddy” and Helen Horangic (sisters) of Palo Alto, CA won the highest honor at the BEG Advanced Clinic (June 15-18) with the presentation of the Brooke Emmens Gonzalez Trophy. The trophy is awarded annually to the sailor or sailors who demonstrate the spirit, quest for improvement and dedication as the dynamic young sailor who died tragically at a young age and in whose memory the clinic is named after.

One hundred thirty youth participants travelled from 16 U.S. states and from the U.S.V.I, Canada and Ireland to train in Club 420, 29’er, Int’l 420, Laser and Laser Radial classes.

The high performance racing clinic held at Sail Newport is led by Head Coach John Mollicone of Brown University and a line-up of Olympic, All-American and college coaches included Justin Assad, Javier Barojovich, Amanda Callahan, Richard Feeny, Scott Flanagan, Kevin Hall, David Hughes, Ken Legler, Zack Leonard, Stu McNay, Joe Morris, Bern Noack, Johm Pearce, Stan Schreyer, Leondro Spina, John Vandemoer, and Skip Whyte.
