VIDEO: Deadly hurricane paths revealed

Smoke, sand and sea salt interact with hurricanes and other weather patterns from August to November 2017 in this supercomputer-powered visualization of atmospheric currents recently released by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. In the animation, sea salt (in blue) snagged by winds sweeping across the ocean’s surface becomes entrained in hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose, and Maria, revealing their deadly paths.
