New overall leader in RORC Transatlantic

(December 3, 2017; Day 9) – On the ninth day of the RORC Transatlantic Race, the battle to bust through the doldrums and get south of the rhumb line has been accomplished by 20 of the 22 teams which are now enjoying downwind sailing in the northeast trade winds. Ludde Ingvall’s Australian Maxi CQS, which made the move on day one, has been the elapsed time leader and has now moved to lead IRC overall with 852.5 nm remaining to the finish as of 20:00 UTC.

The fourth edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race started November 25 at Marina Lanzarote, Canary Islands with a record 23 teams racing 3,000 nm to Grenada, West Indies.
