Time for Unapologetic Campaigning

Published on March 21st, 2018

While we wait for the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament to resume play on March 22, and to see if the Curmudgeon’s beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs can make another run (they are the only team from the 2017 Final Four still standing), the Greatest American Sailing Regatta tournament offers a suitable distraction.

US Sailing assembled 16 of the most popular sailing regattas in the U.S. and seeded the events in a tournament bracket. Based on popularity vote, half the field is now eliminated when the first round ended March 21.

Gone are ILYA Championship, St. Pete NOOD, Bacardi Cup, NYYC Annual Regatta, Texas Youth RW, Long Beach RW, Figawi, and Rolex Big Boat Series.

The next round match-ups are:
• World Cup Series Miami vs Annapolis NOOD
• Transpac vs Chicago Mac
• Charleston RW vs Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta
• Newport Bermuda vs Block Island RW

If you see your ‘team’ still on the board, it’s time for some unapologetic campaigning to stay in the game. This next round of voting ends March 26.
