Jacksonville, FL (May 18, 2022) – After no racing yesterday due to low winds, the 2022 Thistle US National Championship was barely better. After an extended postponement, a late seabreeze allowed racing to get underway at 4:00pm with a second race squeezed in at 5:30pm.

Paul Abdullah with crew Marie Abdullah and Barret Rhodes posted a 6-2 to take the lead, holding a nine point lead on Mike Ingham with Daniel Hesse two points further back in third.

Today’s first race completed the 3-race qualifying series, with the top 24 teams advancing to the Championship Division with the next 25 teams now vying for the President’s title. Three more races will conclude the series on May 20.
