During the leg from Marseille to Hyeres in the 2002 Tour de France a la Voile, a 35-40 knot Mistral caught 'Team Force EDC' with their pants down. The photo was taken just after the bowman went forward to lash down the jib, which was left on the bow. At the same time they were hit by a big gust, then drove straight in the back of a big wave, leading to their “submarine surprise.”
