2003 Scuttlebutt Photo Contest

This is a picture of Jim Demetriades' Transpac 52 'Yassou' in the 2003 Coastal Cup race from San Francisco to Catalina Island. In this picture, Yassou is going approximately 30 knots in the closely spaced 12-foot swells and chopping off the top few feet of each wave as she goes over the top. Driving is Rob Snyder with mates Ray Pope and Stan Gibbs disappearing in the spray. Everybody else is either on the transom or down below manning the pumps!
