The photo here is of the yacht Ticonderoga and was taken during the second day of the 2003 Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race. Ticonderoga first held the race record for the Marblehead to Halifax race in 1947 and has held over 30 major records during the past 6 decades. Ticonderoga was launched in 1936 and was designed by L. Francis Herreshoff and was kept in Marblehead at that time. This photo was taken while hanging off the sprit in a boatswains chair.
