The Transat - ORMA 60 Multihulls

(May 31, 2004) Grey skies, rain that varied from drizzle to torrential and a brisk 20 knot wind were the conditions the 37 competitors taking part in The Transat enjoyed as the historical single-handed race the 'wrong way' across the North Atlantic got underway at 1400BST today from Plymouth Sound, UK to Boston, USA.

The fleet of four classes started simultaneously: the ORMA 60 and 50 multihulls, and the IMOCA Open 60 and 50 monohulls. Below are photos of the ORMA 60 multihulls shortly after the start.
