BMW Oracle Racing announced new members of their sailing theam this week, which include (from left) Russell Coutts, John Kostecki, and James Spithill. Taking a page from the "Dennis Conner Catamaran America's Cup Team Playbook", CEO Coutts has gathered his monohull pals to tackle their multihull campaign. At least Coutts has more multihull experience at this stage than Dennis did. Photo Gilles Martin-Raget / BMW ORACLE Racing.

New England Boatworks in Portsmouth, R.I. are in the midst of their build of a Reichel/Pugh 69-footer for Hap Fauth. As of last week, this boat – which is using prepreg carbon fibre over a nomex and core cell - was progressing on schedule. With more than twenty full time technicians working six days a week, the goal is to launch in advance of, and participate in the 2008 Newport-Bermuda Race. Photo and information by William Tuthill.

Yacht designer Ron Holland took this photo, catching yachting media moguls Rob Mundle (left) and Peter Montgomery in Auckland, New Zealand, checking out the prototype new America's Cup 90 x 90 class design.
