Balboa Yacht Club juniors practicing for the Govornor's Cup in Corona del Mar, CA. The 43rd Annual Governor’s Cup International Junior Match Racing Championship will take place July 14-19, 2009 in twelve identical Gov Cup 21’s, designed by Commodore Alan Andrews, and purchased by Balboa Yacht Club members. Teams are chosen on the basis of their resumes and information submitted by the challenging clubs' bid packages. The Gov Cup is an ISAF Grade 3 Match Racing Event. The top two US finishing teams are invited to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s Youth International Match Racing Championships, held in early 2010.
