Scuttlebutt Photos of the Week October 30-November 5, 2009 A random assortment of photos submitted to Scuttlebutt this week. Click here to submit your photos for consideration.  From the Scuttlebutt bleachers, it would seem that it does not suck to be Curtis Florence. Last week he won the Melges 24 World Championships sailing with Chris Larsen, and he adds this title to his 2009 Farr 40 World Championship victory on Barking Mad and his 2008 Mumm 30 World Championship on Optimum, (no class worlds in 2009). Further, this hat-trick of worlds’ wins was almost a quartet as he finished 2nd at the 2009 J/24 World Championships, narrowly missing the overall title after leading going into the final race of that event. He was also on the winning boat, Spike Boston's "Frequent Flyer", at the S2 7.9 International Championship Regatta held at Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in Holland,MI this past Sept.  It also does not suck to be Zach Railey, whose silver medal win at the Olympics last summer helped to earn him a pass this week to the Vineyard Vines Pro Am Regatta at the Bitter End YC. Here are the winners from the ISSA High School Singlehanded Championship for the Cressy Trophy that was hosted by Corpus Christi Yacht Club October 30-November 01, 2009. Top photo are the Laser winners from right: 1. Max Nickbarg (Antilles School), 2. Trey Hartman (Bellaire HS), and 3.Matthew Gowell (East Greenwich HS). The lower photo has the Radial winners from right: 1.Nevin Snow (Cathedral Catholic HS), 2. Chris Stocke (Sarasota HS), and 3. Max Lopez (Middletown HS South). Click here for complete results.    While the guys ate the spray and the girls dodged the spray at the 29er EUROCUP 2009 on Riva del Garda, at least neither boat resorted to safety goggles that some of the NY Yankee players were sporting to avoid getting their World Series winning champagne in their eyes. Lame!  It has been said countless times that the best winds in Annapolis are in the fall. Okay, we get that. But when the afterguard is all geared up, like they are here on Stephen Murray, Jr’s, Decision IV, (TP 52) on the Chesapeake Bay during the 2009 IRC East Coast Champs last week, then it is cold too.
