Scuttlebutt: Cheyenne Update

(Monday, March 20, 2006) The only update on Steve Fossett’s record breaking catamaran, Cheyenne, formerly Play Station, is that there is really no update... yet.

She has been in San Diego, CA since December 2005, and has been waiting patiently to learn of her future. Her last adventure was the Oryx Quest 2005, where she was skippered by David Scully, only to be dismasted in heavy seas off the east coast of Argentina, about 200 miles north of the Falkland Islands, on March 9, 2005.

Steve Fossett has thus far decided not to comment on what is next for her, but did reveal that "no work has been done on Cheyenne since its arrival in December." We took a look for ourselves, and as the photos below reveal, she is definitely standing by for instructions. Photos by Scuttlebutt.
