Scuttlebutt: Geronimo Update
(Thursday, March 23, 2006) The worlds largest and fastest trimaran, Geronimo, was recently hauled at Driscoll Boat Works in San Diego, CA. The haul took place Tuesday evening, where the 42,500 pound trimaran took 2 hours and 23 minutes to lift out. The 111 foot long and 70 foot wide maxi trimaran was lifted and spun 180 degrees in mid air, lowered down, and blocked for its upcoming repairs and service work at Driscoll Boat Works. Geronimo's skipper Olivier de Kersauson and his crew of eleven will attempt another record in April as they sail fron San Francisco to Yokohama, Japan.
