Scuttlebutt Photos: Mari Cha IV

A cold day offshore France on her way to Antiqua

Thierry Martinez: "Just looking at photos, you could easily think, ok, we jump in a heli and go for a run. To prepare a shooting like this one, you need a lot of phone calls, checking weather every days from 4 to 5 days, and a piece of luck. We were expecting a cold and windy day, but not 25cm of snow at Vannes Airport (FRA). I arrived there at midday after one hour driving on white roads, but learn that we have to wait to take off because visibility was too poor. We take off at 13.00 and after a slalom between snow showers, we arrived in Brest (FRA). We got a phone call from Project manager Jef d'Etiveaud, giving us an update of our meeting point 25 miles north of Morlaix (FRA). With a double layout of fleeces, we flew 12mn and find the boat exactly where she should have been. The crew was not pushing. Delivery crews never push; What it could be if they do????"
