Whidbey Island Race Week is an unparalleled sailing event in the Northwest US - British Columbia region. Originated in 1983, Whidbey Island Race Week enjoyed over one hundred entrants for the 2004 event. Known locally as "Adult Summer Camp," this event is not just about sailboat racing.
Each evening features an awards ceremony with refreshments and live music. In addition to competitive racing there are a variety of activities each day: The Whitey Lewis Volley Ball Trophy has been hotly contested for over ten years. Wednesday is the traditional Bowling Night. On Thursday there is the Race Week Open nine hole golf tournament. Thursday evening is the traditional and ever popular Reggae Night.
