Predacious: a new S&S 65-foot power cruiser

Avid Scuttlebutt reader and top sailor Jordan Murphy recently represented Scuttlebutt at an Open House for the new 65-foot power cruiser, ‘Predacious.’ She is designed by Sparkman & Stephens, built by New England Boatworks, and was the main attraction on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Manhattan Sailing Club Docks, located at the North Cove Marina at the World Financial Center, Battery Park City in New York.

Said Jordan, “The boat is a nice blend of traditional with modern techniques, using foam core for marble galley surface, ultimately combining timeless looks with sportboat performance. Powered by twin turbo 1550 HP Cat 30 diesels, they made it from Newport, RI to NY in 5 1/2 hours, reaching speeds of 35 knots (and consuming 80-90 gallons an hour). The millwork was beautiful, particularly the two all-wood fighting chairs in the salon.”
