The little O'pen Bic made a big show during the “Hall of Fame” dinner of the 32nd America’s Cup, which took place at the “Hemispheric” of the City of Arts & Sciences in Valencia during the America’s Cup final. Ten young sailors from the Valencia Sailing Federation sailed O’pen BIC boats representing each of the participating countries in the Cup.
Fourteen people were rescued from the 55ft race boat Bounder when her
keel reportedly fell off two and half miles south of St Catherine's
Point off the Isle of Wight June 30, 2007. The crew were airlifted
off safely and taken to Lee on Solent. None was hospitalized. The new yacht designed by Juan
Kouyoumdian and owned by Chris Little, recently came third in class in
the JP Morgan Round the Island Race and was lining up for a big season

British print and electronic media company Pindar this week
launched its brand new Open 60 in Auckland, New Zealand. This team, which includes ISAF
World Sailor of the Year and Volvo Ocean Race winner Mike Sanderson and
designer Juan Kouyoumdjian, had Pindar’s new Open 60 built by TP Cookson’s boatyard in New
Zealand over an eight month period from a carbon composite using a male

The George L. Watson designed 1895 36-footer PEGGY BAWN - restored by her owner, Irishman Hal Sisk - will visit the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, RI for this year’s Herreshoff Rendezvous August 24-26, 2007. Submitted by Norene M. Rickson, Librarian/Archivist.
