Photographer Gilles Martin-Raget sent in four photos taken in the early rounds at the Marseille International Match Racing Event.

Last weekend was the annual ladies day for the 18-foot skiffs in Sydney, Australia, aptly named "Queen of the Harbour." Light winds plagued the day, which is when all the crew take one female as a crew member for the races, and then follow shoreside with a bar-b-q for competitors and followers. We don't know who these people are, but since photographer Bob Grieser took the photo, we suspect that it had to be an important moment at the 28th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. Did we mention that the regatta was sponsored by Heineken?

The Star Bacardi Cup last week lost two days of racing due to weather conditions, and this photo shows how nasty it can look on Biscayne Bay in Miami, FL. When you see the storm coming - and you do generally see it coming - you don't mess around. Drop your sails and wait it out. Photo by Marco Oquendo (http://MarcoPhoto.zenfolio.com).

Photographer Onne van der Wal was up in the heli during the Acura Miami Grand Prix, and caught the Farr 40 fleet during a breezy start.

Photographer Thierry Martinez was on hand last week for the Dubai RC44 Cup. Not sure what is most interesting: that James Spithill won the match racing portion of the event, or that there are still plenty of construction cranes in the background of the skyline.

Hosted by Richmond Yacht Club on the east side of San Francisco Bay, nearly 100 entrants had three races on Saturday, than a reverse-handicap pursuit race on Sunday. Photo by Erik Simonson/www.h2oshots.com

Among the youth boats in the world, there is the Minnow, which recently had its State Championship at the Cruising Yacht Club in Rockingham, Western Australia. Winning the overall title over a fleet of thirty-two youngsters ranging in age from 8 years of age through to 13 was Shane Phillips (pictured above) for the fourth consecutive year.
